B:   Yes, at half past seven. Then I have a cup of coffee and a quick shower.

A:   What time do you start work?

B:   At quarter past nine. I leave home at about 8:15.

A:   What are you going to do this weekend, Steve?

B:   I’m not sure. My brother’s coming to visit me for the weekend. I haven’t seen him for ages.

A:   It’ll be good to see him then.

B:   Yes. We might have a barbecue in the backyard tomorrow.

A:   Mmm, I don’t think so. The weather forecast says it’ll rain this weekend… and it won’t be very warm!

B:   Oh, no! Typical! Oh, well, we can go out for lunch then…

A:   Where did you go finally?

B:   Well, we flew to New York first and stayed there for three days.

A:   How marvelous! I love New York!

B:   Me, too! Then we took a train to Washington.

A:   How long did you stay there?

B:   Four days. Then we rented a car and drove down to Florida. It was wonderful. We got back last night.

A:   I feel terrible. I have a stomachache.

B:   Have you eaten any strange food?

A:   No, I don’t think so. I had dinner with you and dad last night—we ate the same things.

B:   Oh … no, no thanks Mr. James. I’ve brought some sandwiches. I’ll eat at my desk.

A:   I’m sorry Maggie, but I don’t think I can go to the theater tonight.

B:   Why? Is there a problem at work? You don’t sound too good.

A:   No, works fine. But I think I might have the flu.

B:   The flu? Oh, no! But you were fine this morning.

A:   Yes, I felt OK when I got up. But I started to feel strange on the bus on the way to work. I think I have a fever now.

B:   Oh, dear. Do you have a sore throat?

A:   No, but I have a terrible headache. I took two aspirins an hour ago, but it hasn’t helped.

B:   Do your arms and legs hurt?

A:   Yes, my whole body hurts!

B:   Right. You have to come home immediately.

A:   I can’t! We’re going to have a very important meeting in 10 minutes. I can’t miss it!

B:   Oh, come on, Ben. Yes, you can. You’ll give the flu to everybody at the office if you stay at work!

A:   Yes, I suppose you’re right Maggie. I should come home and go to bed.

B:   Exactly. That’s the best thing to do. I’ll go to the pharmacy on my way home and get you some flu medicine.

A:   OK, you just go ahead.

C:   Yes, sir. Do you want the morning or afternoon tour?
