Megan: Are you going to enter that competition to win a holiday, Ben?
Ben: What competition?
Megan: It’s for a travel company called Travel Light.
Ben: Really? What do you have to do?
Megan: Write a story. You’ve good at stories.
Ben: Yes, maybe.
Megan: You have to be between 13 and 16 to enter. But you’re 14, so that’s all right.
Ben: When’s the closing date?
Megan: The 10th of March.
Ben: But it’s the 8th today!
Megan: Yes, so you’ve only got two days. You will know if you are the winner on the 18th of March.
Ben: Can I email my competition entry?
Megan: No. You can post it, or you can take it to their office.
Ben: Where’s their office? Is it in London?
Megan: Yes. You sound excited!
Ben: I am. It’s a great opportunity. I am not sure I would make it to the final selection, but I love writing stories so I am happy to do it. So, which street in London?
Megan: It’s at 10 King’s Street. Go down Green Road and turn left into Jessie Street and King’s Street is on the left.
Ben: What can you win?
Megan: This month, it’s a trip to Canada for you and your family. You get two weeks in a hotel and one week travelling around the Rocky Mountains.
Ben: Wow! Pass me a pen!

Boy: I know! But this was the only one that was big enough for all my school stuff!
Girl: Right. Well, it looks good. Did it cost a lot?
Boy: Yeah, much too much. Dad had to lend me some money.

Girl: That’s a good idea. You can text him now. He’s at the cinema this afternoon.
19 You will hear a museum guide talking to some tourists. What should the tourists look for?
Woman: Now, we are coming to the very heart of the castle where the Queen’s jewels are kept. They’re called the Crown Jewels and they include the crown the Queen wore on the day she became queen in 1953. If you look carefully, you’ll see a large diamond in the crown. These jewels are very valuable so they are locked in a case at night.
20 You will hear a man talking to his daughter before she goes out. What should she take with her?
Dad: Have you seen the weather forecast today, Gina?
Girl: Why, Dad? What do you mean?
Dad: You won’t need your sunglasses today. The weather forecast says it’s going to be cloudy today.
Girl: That’s a shame. Karen and I were going to go to the beach.
Dad: Well, take your umbrella because it’s just starting to rain.
