Girl:   Hi Joe. How was your job last week?

Joe:   It was great. I loved it.

Joe:   I worked in the museum.

Girl:   Oh no! That sounds boring.

Joe:   It wasn’t boring, it was fun!

Girl:   Really? What did you do all day?

Joe:   I worked in the museum shop. I talked to the customers. I helped them find things to buy, and I answered their questions.

Girl:   What time did you start?

Joe:   I started at eight o’clock in the morning. The shop didn’t open until nine, but we needed to get things ready.

Girl:   How did you travel to work every day? Did you go by bus?          

Joe:   No, I didn’t. I walked. The museum is quite close to my house.

Girl:   Oh, I didn’t know that. And how did you get the job? Did the school find it for you?

Joe:   No. I called the museum and asked for a job. At first, they said no, but I tried again, and they said yes!

Ben:   Yes, I did, with trousers and a shirt. I wanted to wear a T-shirt, but they said no. I wore a clean white shirt each day. How about you? What did you wear?

Lauren:   I wore jeans and a T-shirt.

Ben:   Were there any other people there from our school?

Lauren:   Only Anna. There were two boys from another school in our group.

Ben:   Were they the same age as you?

Lauren:   No, they were older. They really help us.

Olivia:   Mrs Wilson needs someone to help in the garden.

Dad:   You have experience helping us in the garden and you’re good with plants. She has a big garden behind her house, right?

Olivia:   Yes, she does. The only problem is she needs someone on Saturday mornings, and I have piano lessons then.

Dad:   Hmmm. Any other options?

Olivia:   Well, there’s a job offer in the newspaper for someone to do a paper round.

Dad:   Where?

Olivia:   In the town centre.

Dad:   Well, you’ve experience walking our dog and it’s bigger than the dogs Robert walks. Speaking of walking dogs, it’s time for you to take Pongo for his walk.

Olivia:   OK Dad. Can you call your friend for me?
